One of the most emblematic experiences at Quinta da Aveleda is the guided tour of the gardens. There are 8 hectares of romantic gardens, where the sequoias, cork oaks and a 300-year-old eucalyptus stand out. The nearly 100 species of Camellia trees draw an avenue, which fills with different colors at the beginning of spring. The paths cross between the old and picturesque house of the gatekeeper, the small chalet, the lake with the three islands, the tea house, the fountain of the Vêndome and other places where special moments can be created.

Old Winery

It is the mystical place where the Adega Velha brandies age, where you can feel the value of tradition and the aromas of pure alchemy. Its visit is a must and is part of the guided tours circuit.

Threshing Floor

The former threshing floor was the target of intervention in 2017 by Arch. Diogo Aguiar and resulted in a large space, with a shop and tasting room, flanked by the old stables and coach house. Here, the space where morning meetings were held before the daily work in the field, is preserved. Today it is a fantastic space for hosting events, liable to weather conditions.

Old Kitchen

The Old Kitchen is a place full of stories and traditions. In the past, this space served the meals of the workers at the time of the harvest and the "vintage soup" was made for everyone.
It is currently here that we carry out our bread workshop among other activities.

Stable and Coach House

The stable and coach house are buildings dating back to the 19th century, where the horses, coaches and harness were used as a means of transport by family members. Currently, they are museum spaces.

Wine shop

This store is the living proposal of all the products of the Quinta. With a natural emphasis on the Aveleda, Casal Garcia and Adega Velha wines that the company produces in the Vinhos Verdes region, here you can also find the wines from Quinta Vale D. Maria in the Douro, Quinta d’Aguieira in Bairrada, Mandriola de Lisboa in Lisbon and Villa Alvor in the Algarve. Aveleda cheeses and other local flavors are not forgotten. The store has home delivery service and TaxFree.

Old Vintages Cellar

It is the paradise of oenophiles, where they can immerse themselves in the history of the estates and their wines and find relics that are out of the conventional market, due to their scarcity or antiquity. An exclusive place for demanding buyers.

Guided Tours

Guided tours follow a route that includes the most emblematic places of the Estate, with emphasis on the viticultural and botanical heritage. With the possibility of accompaniment in Portuguese and English every day, there is also the possibility of accompaniment in English, French, Spanish and sign language (under consultation and advance booking). You can integrate one of the available schedules and make a group visit or, for a more personal involvement opt for a private visit.

Visits to the Gardens

Escape Garden

This is a pioneer game. Developed around the 150 years of family history, this is an escape game designed to be played outdoors, among gardens and vineyards, and an innovative and dynamic way to educate about wine. The game revolves around the tragedy of a lost bottle from 1870, belonging to the family's private collection. Participants are challenged to find it via tracks, spread across the estate, before time runs out. It is an excellent activity for corporate events, or team buildings.

Bread Workshop

A special moment for bread baking in the wood-fired ovens at Cozinha Velha with our baker. Next, we suggest that you take a guided tour of the property and historic gardens and finish with a wine tasting paired with Aveleda cheese (not included in the price) and freshly baked bread!

Our Food & Beverage crew is dedicated to preparing menus based on traditional recipes, some in the family for decades, using local products. We offer a variety of options, always combined with the different wines from the various properties. The spaces adjust to the needs of customers, as well as menus, schedules, etc. Always under reservation, it's the icing on the cake on any visit!
